ShelterBox is the Kent Scouts Community Impact charity of the year for 2025. It also marks the Charity’s 25th anniversary year as they were founded in the year 2000.
Kent Scouts has partnered with ShelterBox for a number of years now and ShelterBox has had a presence at many previous KIJs. (Kent International Jamborees). Back in October 2021 Kent Scouts tried to hold a countywide Shelter4ShelterBox event to raise funds and awareness for the Charity. Unfortunately because it involved sleeping out overnight in shelters this was all pretty much scuppered by the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully we can make up for this in October 2025.

ShelterBox and Sustainability
“We are committing to innovation in shelter assistance, learning and adapting as we grow sustainably. This will include a declaration to become a carbon neutral organisation and building on our achievement to date in removing 250,000 problem plastics from our aid. We will share our data and learning with the wider humanitarian community, using evidence to better serve the people we support together.”
